Enrolment and training of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) as general Insurance sellers

Summary

Our client, an insurance company, required to develop a network of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to sell general insurance or non-life insurance policies covering Health Insurance, Motor Insurance, Home Insurance etc. Under Common Service Centres (CSC) scheme introduced by Government of India, VLEs were groomed to ensure systemic delivery of common services for the families and people in the local areas and also setup a localised helpdesk support to citizens in villages. RuralShores Skills Academy (RSA) was tasked with responsibility to induct and enrol the VLEs for selling insurance services. RSA did the operation in Western Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh for actively providing method for clearing the IRDAI assessments for clearing to be able to sell general Insurance in their locality.  The VLEs, with their strong entrepreneurial capability, can further ensure their financial stability through maximum commission sharing.

Conclusion

This was a start of the process for inducting VLEs.  RSA conducted practical training in general insurance business for VLEs and provided guidance to appear for IRDAI exam. Through this assignment, RSA has contributed towards boosting entrepreneurship and employment in villages and smaller towns across the country by making the approach and process successful.
