There was a time I didn’t want to be seen.

A typical backbencher; the quiet, introverted one who blended into the background.
I avoided questions.
Stayed silent, not because I had nothing to say,
But because I was afraid of saying it wrong.
I feared speaking English.
I feared judgement.
I feared… that maybe I wasn’t meant for more.
Even my parents would sigh, “What will you do with your life?”
And I had no answer.

Until one day.. I joined a 90-day course offered by RuralShores Skills Academy at Mijwan Welfare Society.
It started with a small decision; to learn basic computer skills
But being there changed the way I thought; suddenly, new possibilities appeared, and my mind began to expand
They didn’t just teach us skills-
They challenged us to step forward and give our best.
In Every. Single. Project.
The real transformation started becoming visible to me as I got fully involved.

→ I learned to handle real BPO calls.
→ I spoke English out loud, even in my presentations.
→ I stood in front of a camera, trembling… but I spoke.
→ I worked in teams, solved problems, practiced interviews.

And slowly..

→ I learned to write professional emails; the kind recruiters actually respond to.
→ I started creating professional videos, and my editing skills have significantly improved.
→ I cracked logic games and role-plays; sharpened how I think on my feet.
→ I practiced Excel; real formulas, not just data entry.
→ I faced feedback sessions; listened, reflected, improved.
→ I helped plan a mock customer service day; solving queries, staying calm.
→ I joined daily “English circles”; no textbooks, just real talk with peers.
→ We tracked our growth; week by week, one small win at a time.

I stopped hiding.
Started raising my hand.
Started helping others.
Started looking people in the eye.
Then one day, in a mock interview, the recruiter asked me something in English.

For a second, I froze.
Then… I answered.
Clearly. Confidently.
Like I’d been doing it all along.
That moment changed everything.

→ I earned my “Leadership Certificate” and saw pride in my parents’ eyes.
→ I cracked interviews with companies I once thought were out of reach.
→ Now, I dream bigger. I want to lead a BPO team,
And simultaneously start a YouTube channel to teach English to others like me.

To those who feel invisible…
You just need a chance to be seen.
If I can do it, so can you.
Here’s to the quiet ones who rise.
Here’s to becoming unstoppable.
Here’s to me.

I am Adnan.
